Frank Rose, Board Chairman of the San Angelo Area Foundation announced $63,250 in grants towards the following five organizations and causes.
- Angelo Civic Theatre, assistance for renovation of the rehearsal space - $10,000
- Christians in Action, assistance towards the purchase of a collection van - $8,250
- La Esperanza Health & Dental Center, assistance towards technology equipment related to the construction of a new north-side clinic - $20,000
- San Angelo Day Nursery, technology upgrade assistance - $10,000
- Tom Green County-Beacon to the Future-New Library Capital Project - $15,000
The San Angelo Area Foundation manages over 125 charitable funds totaling more than $20 million dollars in assets. Some of the funds allow the board of the Foundation full discretion of grant making opportunities, of which these grants were made possible.
Established in 2002, the San Angelo Area Foundation has granted over $1.4 million dollars in grants and scholarships to over 80 organizations and 180 students, since inception.
