San Angelo Area Foundation

Area Foundation News - Summer, 2003

[Page 1] Foundation history

The San Angelo Area Foundation was established in 2002 by a group of visionary people from the San Angelo Health Foundation.

They wanted to complement the great works of the San Angelo Health Foundation by creating a community based organization that could help those in need and create a legacy of caring for future growth. The Foundation received its initial funding from the Health Foundation, creating an unrestricted fund for broad grant making purposes and an operations fund to assist with start-up operation expenses. The first gift the Foundation received was a donor advised fund from Mark and Amy McLaughlin.

The San Angelo Area Foundation is excited to present the first Foundation newsletter. The Foundation will send this newsletter to the community to help give readers insight into important foundation information and the benefits of giving to the community.

“This foundation will build a legacy of philanthropy by attracting and prudently managing endowment funds in order to match donor interest with community needs of the area”
