San Angelo Area Foundation manages more than 150 component funds designed to assist donors in accomplishing a variety of charitable objectives. Below are some of the types of funds placed with the foundation.

  • Discretionary Funds have unrestricted purposes, which provide the foundation with flexibility to address community needs and opportunities as they change over time.
  • Field of Interest Funds support areas of particular interest to the donor, such as the arts, education, children’s needs, or services for the elderly.
  • Donor Advised Funds provide donors with the opportunity to recommend grants from the fund they establish.
  • Endowment Funds Supporting Nonprofit Organizations are established for the specific purpose of supporting operations or programs of particular nonprofit organizations. They can be established either by a donor or by the nonprofit itself.
  • Scholarship Funds are established by donors to provide students with opportunities to further their education or training.
  • Split Interest Charitable Trust Funds and Charitable Gift Annuities are established by donors to provide income opportunities for the donors or their heirs while also supporting charitable causes.
