Unrestricted funds are those funds given to the Foundation by which the Board of Directors of the Foundation entertain grant requests and award discretionary grants to meet the pressing needs of area non-profit organizations.

The Foundation Unrestricted Endowment Fund
Endowed fund created by the San Angelo Health Foundation to assist the San Angelo Area Foundation with its initial unrestricted grant-making program. The fund has awarded more than $70,000 in grants in the last three years. Other donors have added to this fund to support the discretionary grant making efforts of the Foundation.

Joyce Beckhusen Unrestricted Endowment Fund
Endowed fund created by the estate of the late Joyce L. Beckhusen of San Angelo to provide grants to area non-profit organizations. Ms. Beckhusen, born in Rowena, retired after more than 35 years as an engineer with GTE (now Verizon). She supported her church, Trinity Lutheran and sought to benefit the many charitable needs of our area.

Operations Fund
This fund was created by the San Angelo Health Foundation to assist the San Angelo Area Foundation with its start up operations expenses. This fund has allowed the Foundation to keep its fee expenses schedule affordable. Other donors have added to this fund to support the operations of the Foundation.
