Unrestricted funds are those funds given to the Foundation by which the Board of Directors of the Foundation entertain grant requests and award discretionary grants to meet the pressing needs of area non-profit organizations.

JOYCE L. BECKHUSEN UNRESTRICTED ENDOWMENT FUND
This endowed fund was created by the estate of the late Joyce L. Beckhusen of San Angelo to provide grants to area non-profits. Ms. Beckhusen, born in Rowena, retired after 35 plus years as an engineer with GTE (now Verizon). She supported her church, Trinity Lutheran and sought to benefit the many charitable needs of our area.

THE FOUNDATION OPERATIONS FUND
This fund was created by the San Angelo Health Foundation to assist the San Angelo Area Foundation with its start up operations expenses. This fund has allowed the Foundation to keep its fee expenses schedule affordable. Other donors have added to this fund to support the operations of the Foundation.

THE FOUNDATION UNRESTRICED ENDOWMENT FUND
This endowed fund was created by the San Angelo Health Foundation to assist the San Angelo Area Foundation with its initial unrestricted grant making program. In the last two years this fund has awarded more than $40,000 in grants. Other donors have added to this fund to support the discretionary grant making efforts of the Foundation.
