MIKE AND DONNA ANDERSON ASU BASEBALL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This endowed scholarship is awarded annually to an ASU student, or newly admitted student, who will play baseball for ASU and who is a graduate of a high school located within the 17 counties served by the San Angelo Area Foundation.
ARMSTRONG BACKUS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
A perpetual scholarship established by the partners of the San Angelo accounting firm of Armstrong Backus and Co., this fund awards a scholarship to an ASU graduate student with a minimum of 120 hours, whose grade point average is no less than 3.0, and who is majoring in accounting with the intention of becoming a CPA.
TRAVIS SCOTT ARMSTRONG MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
A scholarship fund set up in memory of Travis Scott Armstrong, this scholarship is awarded to a student who is an alumni of the West Texas Boys Ranch and is enrolled (or plans to enroll) as a full time student in any accredited college, university, or trade school.
ASU FAME ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This fund was established by the Board of Directors of the Angelo State University Friends of Art and Music Education (FAME) to provide scholarships for music and art students attending Angelo State University. Additional donors have already begun to add to this fund to allow more students the opportunity to major in the Arts at ASU.
- Mayer Anderson Memorial Fund is a fund within the ASU FAME Scholarship Fund. It was created by Doris and Norm Rousselot in memory of their grandson, who passed away in 1998. Mayer Anderson was a wonderful artist and talented guitar player, so the Rousselots saw it fitting to create the fund in their grandsons memory.
JACK AND NINA BREWER SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This fund was established by Jack and Nina Brewer for qualified graduates of Robert Lee High School in Robert Lee, Texas. Established in memory of Jack who passed away in 2003, scholarships are awarded annually and recipients may receive multi-year scholarships. Applicants are reviewed by a Robert Lee Scholarship Committee that makes recommendations to the Foundation Scholarship Committee and Board of Directors.
TED BRUTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
A memorial scholarship created by friends and family of Ted Bruton, the fund awards a scholarship to a qualifying student accepted as a student at Texas A&M.
DANIEL AND LOIS DUDERSTADT ARNOLD MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This endowed fund was established in memory of Daniel and Lois Duderstadt Arnold by Mrs. Arnolds daughter, Yvonne Meyer, and is awarded annually to a resident of Menard, Texas, preferably from Menard High School. First preference is given to the employees or their families of Menard Manor who are pursuing a nursing or LVN degree. Applicants are reviewed by a Menard Scholarship Committee who make recommendations to the Foundation Scholarship Committee and Board of Directors.
THE E. JAMES HINDMAN ASU BASEBALL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This endowed scholarship fund, instituted by Clark Pfluger and Ken Lyons, honors the current president of the university, Dr. James Hindman. The student athlete selected for this scholarship is a Concho Valley area student enrolled in the baseball program at ASU.
KAREN KAY HUDDLESTON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This fund was founded in 2003 in memory of Karen Kay Huddleston by her mother, Lenorah Hendry. Karen had a great love for art. In keeping with her penchant for the arts, this scholarship is awarded to an applicant who will be an art major at Angelo State University or Texas A&M University.
THE DUB AND JUNE IZZARD SCHOLARSHIP FUND
In honor of his parents, Dub and June Izzard, Rudy Izzard established this fund to be used for football scholarships for student athletes from San Angelo or the Concho Valley who attend Angelo State University.
THE GLORIA KERBOW MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This endowed scholarship fund was established in memory of Gloria Kerbow of Sutton County. The scholarship goes to a full time student from the Concho Valley with preference given to a student whose major field of study is mental health. Applicants are reviewed by the Endowment Committee of the First Methodist Church of Sonora.
RALPH AND BOBBY LOU MAYER SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This scholarship is awarded to a student who graduated from a high school within the area served by the Foundation, and who is a student athlete admitted to or attending Angelo State University.
RAYMOND TORRES MEZA II MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This endowed scholarship fund was established by Raymond and Norma Meza, and the community at large, in memory of Raymond Jr. who passed away in 2003. Scholarships are awarded to a Central High School graduate(s) who plans to attend Angelo State University. A fountain honoring Raymond is located by the Concho River near the Celebration Bridge.
RHETT MILLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This fund was established by friends and family in memory of Rhett Miller who was the son of Pierce and Betty Miller. This fund provides a $2000 scholarship to a student from Central High School who has been a student at that high school for three consecutive semesters.
AUSTIN C. MILLSPAUGH SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This fund was established in memory of Austin Millspaugh, who passed away in 2004, by board members of Texas State Bank along with friends and family. The scholarship awards a grant to a student who has earned at least 60 hours from a qualified college within the West Texas area who is pursuing a degree within the field of agricultural sciences.
OZELLE AND MORRIS REESE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Established by their son, Morris Reese, Jr., in memory of his parents, this endowed fund awards a scholarship annually to a graduate of either Central High School or Lakeview High School, with the grant alternating between the two schools each year.
SAN ANGELO A&M ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This endowed scholarship fund was established by members of the San Angelo A&M Club for students from the Concho Valley who have been accepted or currently are attending Texas A&M University.
SAN ANGELO A&M UNIVERSITY MOTHERS CLUB ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This endowed scholarship fund was established by members of the San Angelo A&M University Mothers Club for students who are graduates of high school in the Concho Valley who are admitted to or attending Texas A&M University.
SAN ANGELO ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP FUND
This fund was established by members of the San Angelo Rotary Club and exemplifies the Rotarian credo of service above self. The scholarship is awarded to graduates of any Tom Green County high school who plan to attend any accredited college or university. Applicants are reviewed by the Scholarship Committee of the Rotary Club of San Angelo.
SAN ANGELO SCHOOLS SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Established by the San Angelo Schools Foundation from fundraisers and teacher payroll contributions, this scholarship is awarded to students who will graduate from either San Angelo Central or Lakeview high schools. Eight scholarships were awarded in 2004 and applications are taken every spring with the hope of providing more scholarships as this fund grows.
STEPHENS SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS FOR ASU ATHLETICS
Steve and Pollyanna Stephens created two endowed scholarship funds to enhance the athletic programs at ASU. Both funds will assist the athletic department of ASU with its student athlete recruitment. One of the funds focuses the awards on students from the Concho Valley, while the second is available to any ASU student athlete.
THE RALPH AND ELENE WILSON SCHOLARSHIP FUND
The donors intend for this fund to provide a scholarship to a junior at Angelo State University with at least 75 semester hours who will be a senior at ASU planning to graduate from that institution.
