Area Needs

The San Angelo Area Foundation seeks grant information for area non-profit organizations and publishes a list of needs below. This list is updated periodically and is provided to our donor advisors as well as area philanthropists to aid in their decision making process. Donors who desire to aid with one or more of these projects can contact the foundation office to learn more about the organization and their needs.

  • BEACON TO THE FUTURE:
The Tom Green County Library is moving into the former Hemphill Wells Building and construction is expected to begin on Phase One in the Spring of 2008. More than $10 million dollars has been raised for the project, however funding is still needed for Phase Two and Three. Phase Two is the completion of the third floor community center space for $1.1 million dollars and Phase Three is the purchase of the furniture, fixtures, equipment and signage for $1 million dollars. More information about this project can be found at www.beacontothefuture.org.

  • SAN ANGELO STADIUM FIELD HOUSE:
The current field house is more than 50 years old and fails to meet current requirements. Donors, led by Stormy Kimrey, have gathered support for over $1.2 million dollars for this new Field House. The project hopes to raise $300,000 by spring of 2008 in order to provide a challenge grant to SAISD to undertake this project.
